Rehearsals

  • Attendance at rehearsal is required to participate on the following Sunday morning. We know that life happens and something may come up at the last minute requiring you to miss rehearsal, but we hope that you will do your best to have this be a once-in-a-while occurrence.
  • Rehearsal setup for Thursday night begins at 6:30 pm (both campuses). Scheduled techs and instrumentalists are expected to begin setup promptly at 6:30 pm on both campuses.
  • Call time (the time everyone arrives, gets setup, and vocalists warm-up) for rehearsal on Sunday morning begins at 7 am at Lambs Gap and 8 am at Etters. Everyone is expected to arrive promptly so that we can be “ready to play music” by 7:30 am at Lambs Gap and 8:30 am at Etters.
  • Call time for Thursday evening rehearsal is 6:30 pm at both campuses (band and techs arrive at 6:30 to setup). Full rehearsal begins at 7 pm on Thursday nights at both campuses.
  • Monitor mixes can be mixed personally at both campuses (through the use of iPad app GLD OneMix), but please be patient with this technology that allows us—when it works well—to mix our monitors over great distances wirelessly. It’s not magic, it’s using mobile devices and access points and routers and modems and switches and computers and cables and interfaces and software that all have to be setup correctly and working properly in order for you to mix your monitor. Check out this video overview of the OneMix app.
  • We will do our best to keep rehearsal around 90 minutes, unless there is an agreement/special need to stay longer.
  • Please be considerate of everyone’s time by arriving EARLY. You should know how long you need to setup equipment, prepare your music, or even to socialize.
  • Service plans, chord charts, and YouTube or mp3 rehearsal resources will be available on planningcenteronline.com (most of these resources are available at least two weeks in advance of rehearsal, if not more than a month in advance of rehearsal). Some song resources take longer to put together than others. All resources needed for rehearsal will be uploaded no later than Monday of the week of rehearsal.
  • Listen to songs as much as needed prior to rehearsal, develop a plan for mixing or lighting design, play through the chord chart if you’re an instrumentalist, or sing through the songs if you’re a vocalist so that we can be productive with the time we have as a group and be good stewards of the time we have together.
  • Please remember that rehearsals are not the time to learn a song. Your private practice time is for learning your role in a song. Team leaders will communicate with you, and please feel free to communicate with team leaders concerning your role in any given song or service. Rehearsals will be for pulling the song together as a band.
